Carrie & Mike were married at San Juan Bautista Cathedral and celebrated at the Olive Boutique Hotel with friends and family.

I was very excited to share the blog of this beautiful wedding. Carrie & Mike are very special couple who chose our beautiful island their destination wedding. I asked Carrie to share a little bit of how they met, it seemed so great that I want to share it with you as Carrie wrote it to me. Enjoy the story of Carrie & Mike.

We knew from the day we met that God was involved in us meeting and continues to be involved in strengthening our relationship on a daily basis. We met when I decided last minute to fly to St. Louis to watch my University of Dayton Flyers men’s basketball team play in the NCAA basketball tournament. When the Flyers unexpectedly lost their first game, I had to find something to do the next day, so I took the recommendation of friends to take a local brewery bus tour. I wanted to take the later tour, but it was sold out…

Mike was living in Colorado at the time and about to move to Georgia. His God son was getting baptized near St. Louis, and his friends from college were gathering that weekend in St. Louis for one of their spontaneous reunions, so Mike went to St. Louis for the weekend. His friends and dad planned the weekend around a local brewery bus tour… So fate put us both on the same brewery tour on March 19, 2016. Each stop on the tour we got to know each other a bit more, and as Mike’s dad puts it “by the 4th stop, he knew there was a connection” and so did we. We continued to get to know each other and neither of us could deny that we’d found something special.

The next day I went back to Tampa, FL where I was living, and Mike went back to Colorado, but luckily (maybe divine intervention?), Mike moved to Georgia the very next week. We’ve talked literally every day since that weekend in St. Louis… We got together as often as we could (promising each other to never go more than 3 weeks without seeing each other while dating long distance). We made a very special trip to Boston in August, which is where we told each other we loved each other. And by the fall, we knew we wanted to spend our lives together. On January 6, 2017, we went to Disney where I met the rest of Mike’s family. After a nice family dinner, Mike asked me to walk down on the beach with him. There under the stars, Mike got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together and I said yes 🙂

We knew we wanted a small wedding in a fantastic location, so we planned our wedding in San Juan! We absolutely loved it! And feel blessed to have spent such a wonderful wedding weekend with our close friends and family 🙂
